Equally respected for his composing and arranging as he is for his improvising, Whalen’s septet is sure to be creating some intriguing sounds on Friday and Saturday at Twins Jazz. 9 and 11 p.m. sets. >> Dance Cuba, based in Havana, is that country’s most popular dance company. Along with its accompanying live music ensemble, the group explores the intersections of flamenco, jazz, and Afro-Cuban music. Dance Cuba will be at The Lincoln Theatre on Tuesday. 6:30 p.m. Doors. Tickets $30 to $48.
