Metro’s yearlong work plan includes the end of late night service, so night owls need to find a different way to get home on the weekends.

Now, D.C. Police is announcing “safety zones” in five nightlife areas so people can catch taxi cabs and ride shares. The zones will be in operation from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and offer more lighting, signage, and additional officers.

MPD has also set up safe spaces for exchanging online goods.

Here’s where you can find the nightlife safety zones:

Chinatown

  • 600 7th Street NW, alongside the Verizon Center
  • H Street NE

  • In front of 1400 H Street NE
  • Dupont Circle

  • Northbound on 1201 Connecticut Avenue NW
  • Southbound on 1250 Connecticut Avenue NW

  • U Street

  • In front of 1925 Vermont Avenue NW
  • Southbound on 2014 14th Street NW
