The D.C. Streetcar and a vehicle collided this morning in Northeast.

One person is being evaluated for possible injuries, “which appear to be minor in nature,” according to a D.C. Fire and EMS spokesperson. Fire officials arrived at 17th and Benning Road NE around 8:20 a.m.

Two people were inside of the vehicle at the time of the crash, the spokesperson said. The streetcar driver was the only person on the trolly, which “did not derail.”

The 2.4-mile line, which opened in February, has eight stops on H Street NE from Union Station to Oklahoma Avenue. Before it began serving passengers, there was an instance when a streetcar collided with an X2 Metrobus and another incident involving a parked police car.

It’s unclear how this morning’s crash happened, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
