Most of the Metrorail system will operate as normal this weekend, save for the Blue and Yellow Lines, which are currently impacted by SafeTrack, and a hiccup for passengers traveling on the north end of the Green Line.
Blue and Yellow Line trains will run every 24 minutes due to SafeTrack’s 13th surge that runs through April 9. And on the Green Line, buses will replace train service between Greenbelt and College Park stations.
Red Line
Regular weekend service
Friday & Saturday 10:00 p.m. to close, trains will single track between Farragut North & Dupont Circle to allow for preventative maintenance.
Orange Line

- Every 24 minutes between Franconia-Springfield & Largo Town Center.
- Saturday 10:00 p.m. to close, buses will replace trains between King Street, Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield.
Yellow Line
SafeTrack Surge #13 – Continuous single tracking between Braddock Road and Huntington | through April 9
Yellow Line trains will operate every 24 minutes between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square.
Additional trains will operate between National Airport and Mt. Vernon Square.
Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.
Saturday 10:00 p.m. to close, buses will replace trains between King Street, Eisenhower Avenue and Huntington.
Green Line
Buses replace trains at Greenbelt Station only | 7:00 a.m. Saturday through Sunday close
Throughout the weekend, Green Line service will operate at regular weekend intervals between College Park and Branch Ave stations. On Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between College Park & Greenbelt to allow for rail tie renewal. Free shuttle buses will run between College Park and Greenbelt
