Drive-through coronavirus testing in Arlington.

As D.C.’s healthcare system grapples with a growing number of coronavirus cases, Washington-area hospitals and clinics are working to get testing sites up and running. The District’s testing capacity has grown in recent days as it struggled to bounce back from an initial shortage of tests, but guidelines regarding who can get tested have remained murky.

If you want to get tested, you’ll need a referral from a doctor and will have to undergo a screening process specific to the hospital or clinic conducting the test. Results can take between three and seven days. Here are the locations where you can get tested in the D.C. area. We’ll update this list as more testing sites open.
