Update 9/11/20:

A D.C. man has been arrested and charged with murder after police say he intentionally struck and killed a cyclist with his car in Southeast on Sept. 4.

Officers with the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found and arrested Eric Beasley, 29, of Southwest on Thursday, police say. He was charged with first-degree murder.

Original 9/6/20:

D.C. Police say a man on a bicycle has died after a driver intentionally hit him in Southeast on Friday night.

David Farewell, 45, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police are investigating this case as a homicide.

Officers responded to the 2100 block of Young Street SE around 11:53 p.m. Friday, according to a news release.

Police said Farewell was crossing the street on his bike when a driver “intentionally struck” him and then fled the scene. Police are working to identify the driver, a department spokesman told DCist/WAMU.
