Duke’s Grocery will offer a $39 Passover Seder that includes roast chicken, matzo ball soup, maror, haroset, cinnamon braised carrots, seasonal vegetables, hard boiled egg, and sweet potatoes.

With Passover beginning at sundown on Saturday, kitchens around the city are braising briskets, roasting chickens, and rolling up matzo balls for the holiday. And for Easter, which falls on April 4, restaurants are continuing to roll out food and drink specials. Whether you’re looking for a feast to feed the family or a small treat for yourself, there are plenty of options in D.C. for the celebrations this weekend and next.

FIOLA

Reinvigorating a tradition first offered at Fiola in 2014, Fiola will be offering a Celebration of Passover Menu on Friday and Saturday for dining in as well as for pickup and delivery. The menu features interpretations of traditional Roman and Jewish cooking, such as fried baby artichokes and Italian matzo balls with morels and ramps. JOE’S SEAFOOD, PRIME STEAK AND STONE CRAB

The downtown seafood mainstay is serving a traditional prix fixe Passover meal for takeout this year. Enjoy favorites including gefilte fish with red beet horseradish, chopped liver, matzo ball soup, herb roasted chicken, braised beef brisket, wild Alaskan halibut, ginger glazed carrots, and potato pancakes. The menu costs $59.95 per person and can be ordered for pickup or delivery on Saturday and Sunday.

BAKER’S DAUGHTER

The boutique cafe and market from the team behind Gravitas is giving you all the latkes and slow-roasted brisket you need to celebrate Passover. The dinner for two includes latkes, an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $98. The specials are available until April 4 and orders can be placed online

ANXO X PRESCRIPTION CHICKEN

DC’s local chicken soup company is teaming up again with Anxo to offer a special Passover Package. The package comes with a four-pack of Anxo’s District Kosher, one 30 oz. container of Prescription Chicken’s Matzah Ball Soup, limited edition Matzah toffee and a box of everything-spiced matzo from the Matzo Project. Available for $36, the package can be ordered on the Anxo website for delivery or pickup from any Anxo location starting March 26. A non-alcoholic version of the package can also be ordered from Prescription Chicken through any of their delivery platforms.

MUCHAS GRACIAS

For its inaugural Passover celebration, the relatively new taco and burrito shop in Chevy Chase is rolling out brisket suadero tacos to honor the history of Judaism in Mexico. The tacos are served with slow-braised brisket, guacamole, horseradish salsa verde, and habanero. Other Passover offerings at Muchas Gracias include “Masa Ball” soup and a “Jew-ish” tostada with mezcal-cured smoked trout, avocado, radishes, dill, serrano, and trout caviar. Orders can be placed online for pickup and delivery.

LITTLE RED FOX

DUKE’S GROCERY

For Passover, all Duke’s locations are offering a takeout Passover dinner for $39. The meal includes roast chicken, matzo ball soup, maror, haroset, cinnamon braised carrots, seasonal vegetables, hard boiled egg, and sweet potatoes. Passover dinners must be ordered in advance and can be picked up at any Duke’s location.

SHILLING CANNING COMPANY

The popular roasted chicken at Shilling Canning Company is brined overnight in a sorghum-molasses brine, lending the meat a rich flavor. It’s on the takeout Passover dinner menu this year alongside matzo ball soup, beet salad, and preserved peach cheesecake. The meal costs $85 and serves two to four people, with the option of additional whole chickens for $25. Dinners can be ordered for takeout or delivery via Toast or Tock. Pre-orders are not required.

XIQUET DL

Award-winning Chef Danny Lledó is offering an intimate Valencian tasting menu experience for guests this Passover. A five-course tasting menu is available for dine-in where you can watch Chef Lledó prepare your meal over his open wood fire. Dine-in reservations also have the option to add a wine pairing to their tasting menu. The tasting menu is $150 per person for dine-in, and $80 per person for takeout. The takeout menu features Iberian cheeses and charcuterie, grilled octopus, roasted lamb, wood-fired Chilean sea bass, and flourless chocolate cake. THE SMITH

The American brasserie popular for its brunch menu is offering heat-and-eat specials for two or four people for Passover this year. The multi-course menu features matzo ball soup, apple and goat cheese salad, red wine-braised brisket, braised rosemary chicken, garlic smashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and flourless chocolate cake. Orders must be placed by noon the day before pickup or delivery. Pickup is available at both D.C. locations.

Fiola, the Michelin-minted Spanish seafood and tapas mecca, is celebrating the holiday with a five-course Easter Sunday brunch featuring a spring lamb cacciatore and American wagyu ($175 per person). If you want waterfront views, Fiola Mare is offering a three-course Easter brunch with dishes like tuna tartare and eggs benedict alongside bottomless prosecco or classic brunch cocktails ($125 per person). Sfoglina is taking a relaxed, Italian approach to Easter this year, offering their full standard menu alongside additional holiday specials. Immigrant Food is launching its first-ever brunch menu during Easter weekend for dine-in. The menu showcases a mix of immigrant-inspired dishes and festive spring favorites. Highlights include piña colada pancakes, pan de guava and brie, shakshuka, and signature mimosas. Brunch is only available for guests dining in, and reservations can be made via Tock

This Silver Spring barbecue newcomer is offering a smokey alternative to the traditional roasted leg of lamb this Easter. Money Muscle BBQ is offering a build-your-own Easter dinner for two over the holiday weekend. Menu highlights include a romaine and kale Caesar salad with chicken cracklings, a smoked short rib with red wine demi-glace, a whole BBQ chicken with Kansas City BBQ sauce, and a whole branzino with lemon caper butter. All orders must be placed before Wednesday for pickup on Saturday, April 3 between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.

COLADA SHOP

The 14th Street Cuban eatery is offering a special at-home Easter brunch package for those looking to celebrate the holiday with some bubbly on the couch. For $60, chef Mario Monte and the team at Colada Shop are offering a bottle of Cava with a carrot reduction for sparkling cocktails, two bunny-shaped pastelitos, two empanadas, two croquetas, and two breakfast sandwiches. The Easter brunch package is available for pickup from April 2-4 and can be ordered via Tock

Praised for its vegan brunch and efforts to reduce food waste, Equinox is offering an eight-course Easter menu that includes an early spring panzanella, chocolate chip griddle cakes, and cauliflower and sweet potato shawarma. The brunch costs $55 per person with the option of adding mimosas for an additional $35. Reservations can be made via OpenTable and pickup is available via their website

DUKE’S GROCERY

A classic take on Easter brunch is on the menu for take-out this year at Duke’s Grocery locations. Included in the brunch for $29 are potato cakes, country maple ham, pimento deviled eggs, belgian waffles and applewood smoked bacon. If you want to add drinks to the meal, Duke’s is offering bottomless mimosa and bloody mary kits for an additional $39. Brunch is available for pre-order only and can be picked up from all Duke’s locations on April 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on April 4 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

SHILLING CANNING COMPANY

Modern, mid-Atlantic restaurant Shilling Canning Company is incorporating dishes inspired by the Chesapeake Bay in its Easter menu. Brunch offerings include buckwheat crepes with sweet potato, pecan-maple praline and cultured butter, lobster omelettes, glazed ham and eggs, and carrot cake. Dinner, available for take-out only, features roasted prime rib with horseradish cream, yorkshire pudding, local oven roasted vegetables and potatoes, and carrot cake. Brunch begins at $55 per person and dinner begins at $65 per person. Reservations can be made via Resy and pre-orders can be placed via Toast and Tock

OYAMEL

Oyamel is serving up a lamb barbacoa feast for Easter this year, complete with accompaniments like salsa verde, onions, cilantro, tortillas, white herbed rice, refried black beans, a seasonal fruit salad, chips and salsa, and two quarts of hibiscus agua fresca. The family-sized feast is available for $155 via Tock and is perfect for four to five people.

JALEO

This year, Jaleo is presenting an Easter Paella Feast complete with braised lamb shank and spring vegetables. The paella is accompanied by tapas to share, your choice of salad, and flan, making it the ultimate Spanish Easter meal. The Easter Paella Feast must be ordered in advance and can be picked up from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. over Easter weekend.

Join the popular Adams Morgan restaurant on April 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a traditional Easter meal. For $60, Mintwood Place is serving a multi-course meal with deviled eggs, a crab cake, slow roasted honey smoked ham with vegetables, and a strawberry and white chocolate mousse cake. FARE WELL

Fare Well, Doron Petersan’s plant-based diner, is your one-stop-shop for Easter treats this year. The diner will be offering bunny butt cakes, shepherd’s pie, mini pot pies, almond pesto carrots, and green bean casserole. The Easter offerings are available for pre-order online and can be picked up on April 3 and 4.
