Pentagon Protestors Arrested

As President George W. Bush and other members of the administration did their best yesterday to paint a rosy picture of events unfolding in Iraq, some 200 protestors marched from the Lincoln Memorial to within shouting distance of the Pentagon, where they attempted to deliver a mock coffin to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, reports NBC 4. Fifty-one were arrested for crossing over a barrier onto Pentagon property. They were cited for failing to obey…

Previously at DCist: Weekend Roundup

Ahh, it’s been so nice to disconnect from our computers this Memorial Day weekend. We hope you were able to do the same. But the DCist crew was busy this weekend. This DCist has seen a number of famous-for-D.C. types in the aisles of the Glover Park Whole Foods, including Joe Lockhart (when his Glover Park Group was actually in Glover Park.) Now we hear that last Sunday, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, with…

‘Rumsfeld’s War’

It seems that with the runup to the elections, there has been so much focus on how the Bush administration has handled the past four years. Adding to the intense focus is PBS’s highly acclaimed documentary series Frontline, which presents an in-depth look at the state of the American military establishment tonight at 9 p.m. on WETA. In collaboration with The Washington Post, the documentary, titled “Rumsfeld’s War,” promises to showcase a battle for control…
