You’ll see a lot in D.C., but a dead deer along 14th Street yesterday morning was a first for many people.

The intersection of 14th and R Streets NW is usually crowded at the 5 p.m. hour, but it can normally be chalked up to the foot traffic of people making their way to happy hour or back home from work, and not because of a daytime shooting.

Coffee buffs in the Mid City area were thrilled when news broke last August that the award-winning baristas of Peregrine Espresso would be opening up a second location at 1718 14th Street NW. Last night, DCist got a first look at the new digs.
