Single Speed Camera Rakes in $11.6 Million for D.C.
The D.C. government issued $84.9 million worth of traffic fines through its network of speed and traffic cameras mounted throughout the city in fiscal 2012, and 14 percent of that, $11.6 million, came from a single speed camera.

NoMa Gets Recognition on New Red Line Station Name
In a process aimed at cutting down on cluttered station names and making them more accurate, tomorrow Metro will significantly trim the name of the existing New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U Red Line station—from that point on, it will be known simply as “NoMa-Gallaudet U.”
If you can’t make it to the beach this weekend, the closest alternative might be a new beach-themed bar that’s opening along New York Avenue just east of Mt. Vernon Square this weekend.
