Online Gaming Town Halls Scheduled (Again)
No, really, officials from the D.C. Lottery now say they are finally ready to answer your questions about the intranet gaming system which the D.C. Council quietly and controversially approved earlier this year.

It Could Always Be Worse
There’s a lot of frustration with the District’s government these days, most of which has to do with inside baseball — whether that’s bills being pushed through without public vetting, shady hiring practices, or the misappropriation of supposedly independent trust funds. But at least a good number of the city’s Councilmembers remain freely accessible to their constituents, unlike a growing number of congressional Republicans.

Gray Announces Budget Town Hall Schedule
As we all know, Mayor Vince Gray is big on town halls. So it hardly comes as a surprise that Gray will be embarking on a ward-by-ward tour to talk to the public about his 2012 budget proposal.

Ward 1 Residents Pack Gray Town Hall
So far, the town halls hosted by presumptive Mayor-elect Vince Gray have been held in wards where he cleaned up (5, 7) or where he got his clock cleaned (2,3). But yesterday’s Ward 1 town hall was the first Gray convened in a ward that split about as close to even as the Democratic primary got: 60 to 40, in favor of Mayor Adrian Fenty. (Ward 6 is the other, having gone 55-45 for Fenty.)

Gray Addresses Rhee’s Departure at Ward 2 Town Hall
During his opening speech to a packed Ward 2 town hall last night, presumptive Mayor-elect Vince Gray welcomed Interim D.C. Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson — who was in the audience — and briefly addressed the resignation of Chancellor Michelle Rhee.
“Chancellor Rhee did not abruptly quit. That is absolutely fallacious. Nor did I ask chancellor Rhee to leave her position,” said Gray energetically, as he spoke to the audience. He also defended the outgoing Chancellor, stating that “she is committed to our children,” and that “she made a lot of progress” in the District.

Gray Town Hall Tour Lands in Ward 2 Tonight
Presumptive Mayor-elect Vince Gray heads back to “unfriendly” territory tonight: he’ll host a town hall in Ward 2, 72 percent of which sided with Mayor Adrian Fenty in the Democratic primary. This is the fourth of Gray’s eight town halls scheduled throughout October; so far, Gray has hit Ward 5, Ward 3 and Ward 7. The Ward 2 town hall comes only a day after D.C. Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee announced her resignation, so while…

Retail Politics Dominate Ward 7 Town Hall
Though last night’s Ward 7 town hall was a homecoming of sorts for Vince Gray, the audience packed into the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church peppered the presumptive mayor-elect with the type of questions he could have expected when he represented the ward on the D.C. Council. Few were the questions on broad policy matters, replaced instead with personal appeals and retail politics.

Churches and Charter Schools For Gray Town Halls
After a brief hubbub last week over the use of D.C. public schools for some of Vince Gray’s ongoing town halls, the presumptive Mayor-elect’s campaign has released the revised locations for the six remaining events. (Ward 5 and Ward 3‘s town halls took place last week.)

Gray Town Hall Meetings Available In Full On YouTube
So, you didn’t get a chance to make it to presumptive Mayor-elect Vince Gray’s first two town halls in Wards 3 and 5? And DCist’s thorough reports on the discussions between Gray and the people aren’t cutting it for you? (Our feelings are hurt, but okay.) If you answered yes to those two questions, it’s your lucky day — the Gray camp has released full videos of both town halls so you can watch them…
