First Georgetown was rocked this past weekend with a fatal stabbing on M Street during the early-morning hours, now Adams Morgan has been the scene of a shooting, this time happening in the early evening on busy Columbia Road yesterday.

The Post reports that a teenager on a bike pushed another teen down to the ground before shooting him. Witnesses said the shooter was “all smiling from ear to ear.” The wounded teen then fled to Calvert Street where he collapsed. (Random note … the Post says that he fled to Calvert “Road” and was shot on Columbia “Avenue” … which is incorrect) The wounded teen is in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police aren’t sure if the shooting is gang related. Last year, a WMATA bus driver on the No. 42 route was wounded up the road and around the corner on Mount Pleasant Street in a shocking daylight gang shootout, an act that mobilized a gang task force to deal with increasing violence in the capital.
