The ACLU and a coalition of groups supporting drug law reform have announced advertisements questioning the wisdom of draconian drug laws will return to the metrorail system – specifically the Union Station and Capitol South stations.

The advertisement was banned by an amendment to a 2004 spending bill which would have withheld federal transportation funding from any local transit authority which accepted advertisements critical of current drug laws. A federal district court ruled the law unconstitutional in June.
