Martha Stewart is going to West Virginia. By Oct. 8, she will surrender herself to federal authorities and serve her sentence at the nation’s oldest federal prison in Alderson, a small town near White Sulphur Springs.

So next time you’re going to visit the Lost World Caverns, the Organ Cave or the New River Gorge, in southeastern West Virginia, drive down Highway 63 between Lewisburg and Hinton and say hello to Martha. But you can’t exactly swing by the prison despite its “summer camp”-like set up, the Post reports.

While Alderson is widely considered one of the best options for female prisoners, life in confinement there is still no picnic, lawyers and prison experts said. Inmates are limited to five hours of personal phone calls a month and may have only preapproved visitors at specific times.

Martha will join a list of famous inmates at the facility, including Tokyo Rose, Squeaky Fromme, Billie Holiday, and “Constance Perry, the mother of drug kingpin Rayful Edmond III, Marlene Ramallo, the ex-wife of former Washington Redskins owner Jack Kent Cooke, and Mary Treadwell, the ex-wife of former District mayor and current political candidate Marion Barry,” the Post says.
