FRIDAY:
>> It’s what all the cool kids are doing: Liberation Dance Party goes on tonight at DC9. If you’re going to the Dogs Die in Hot Cars (pictured at right) show at the 9:30 Club, make sure to hit DC9 afterwards, because they’ll be doing a spot of post-show spinning.
SATURDAY:
>> Get crafty: The Washington Craft Show takes place all weekend long, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Washington Convention Center. Everything from pottery to jewelry to furniture will be on sale – but don’t expect any bargains. Many of the “crafts” retail for well into the thousands.
>> Why not head on over to the National Museum of American History? Jerry Seinfeld donated his infamous puffy shirt to the museum on Friday, and it’s on full display in all its glory, next to such pieces of American pop culture as Dorothy’s ruby shoes.
>> Need some good karma? Join chair Cal Ripken in the 17th annual Help the Homeless Walkathon, between Fourth and Seventh streets on the National Mall. Registration starts at 7 a.m., the 5k walk beings at 9. 14,000 people are homeless in the metropolitan area.
>> Local faves the Hurricane Lamps are playing the Galaxy Hut in Arlington. 9:30 p.m.
SUNDAY:
>> The D.C. City Museum closes Nov. 28; if you haven’t yet seen it, this weekend is your last chance to check it out. The museum is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
>> D.C. two-piece the Aquarium plays the Black Cat tonight for only $5. We’ve been a fan ever since we saw them open for the Dismemberment Plan in a rain-soaked Fort Reno show a couple of summers ago.
