Coming in to last night’s game against the Wisconsin Badgers, the Maryland Terrapins had ample reason to think they could snap the Badgers 30-game home winning streak. The ACC was once again dominating the annual ACC-Big Ten challenge: N.C. State defeated slumping Purdue, Florida State eked one out over Minnesota, and surging Georgia Tech took it to the house against Michigan. Not to mention the fact that Maryland was coming in at 3-0, ranked 13 spots ahead of the No. 25 Badgers. All signs pointed to the possibility that the ACC would go in to tonight’s games undefeated in the challenge (though no self-respecting Maryland fan would be cheering for a Duke victory in their game against Michigan State).
