Ever tried D.C.-area lunch joint Perfect Pita? If not, that could change in the near future. The inexpensive takeout restaurant enjoys brisk lunchtime sales of its Greek-influenced sandwiches, pitas, and pizzas (most for under $5) at two Alexandria and one downtown D.C. location, but that could soon become many more.

The Washington Business Journal reported in December that the owner of The Perfect Pita, Attila Kan, has decided to franchise his operation through Fransmart, a Alexandria franchise development company, shooting for “100 locations in Greater Washington within three years.” A spokesman for Fransmart even told the Journal “We’re looking at it as the next Five Guys.”

The chain has developed a following attracted by their low prices, fresh food, and quick service. We’ve heard their White Pizza, Sir Ceasar Pita, and Tilapia Delight all recommended, and found their pitas good if occasionally a bit heavy on their mysterious sauce. Have an extra $200-500,000 kicking around and looking to go into business? You can sign up online for franchise information.
