Today will be partly sunny with highs in the 50s. Many DCist fans and other area bloggers turned out on Saturday to see Blue State perform. They’ve posted photos and set lists on their website, and music from the event has already sparked some discussion among area bloggers.
Retirement Home Attacks: A 30-year-old part time housekeeping employee of an Alexandria retirement home “snapped” yesterday stabbing seven residents of the home before being subdued by a visitor to the facility. NBC4 has a somewhat prosaic slide show of images from the scene, including the one to the right.
Inaugural Update: The Post reviews the extensive security measures which will be in place for President Bush’s inauguration. They include a futuristic command center in Virginia, road blocks and pedestrian screening planned for a 100 block area downtown. The newspaper says specific road closures will be announced tomorrow. Yesterday, we reported on some who want to see the inauguration cancelled.
