As you may remember, the folks up in Cleveland Park were outraged recently when their local elementary school, John Eaton, was used as a weekend community spay-and-neutering clinic for area cats. Parents said they didn’t receive advance warning from the school system that hundreds of cats would get their personals snipped where their children eat lunch Monday-Friday. The organizers of the cat clinic, along with the D.C. health authorities, said that the cafeteria was properly sterilized, but concerned parents said that their feline-allergic children would still be exposed to nasty remnants from the weekend spay-a-thon.
Well, add this DCist photo to Cleveland Park’s complicated realationship with cats. We spied this house on Newark Street near 33rd Place NW, less than a five-minute walk from John Eaton. Look closely folks, call the fire department! There’s a cat stuck on the roof, seconds from sliding off! Calamity awaits!
