Greetings Washington, we hope you had a good weekend. Sunday afternoon, we snapped this photo of the Uline Arena near Second and M streets in Northeast, adjacent to the Union Station railyards.
For those who don’t know, Uline — fka the Washington Coliseum — was the site of the Beatles first live concert appearance in the United States, has seen better days. Now a trash transfer station, the arena is one of the most engdangered sites in the city.
For more photos of our walking tour of the area around Second Street NE, check out the jump.
Here’s what you may have missed on DCist the past few days …
— OK, so it wasn’t as glamorous as DC Style’s magazine launch party at the yet-to-open Oya, but DCist’s third happy hour was a great time and a perfect way to kick off St. Patrick’s Day Week festivities. Thanks to all who came out. DC Style may have had Moet & Chandon champagne served with straws, but we had black and tans served with bloggers. At least at Biddy Mulligan’s we got fish and chips. At Oya, we couldn’t seem to get any food during the party.

— We wish we were in Austin for SXSW, but having an -ist site in Texas the next best thing.
