Yesterday’s Animal Watch in the Post had an interesting item about an orange corn snake being found in a hallway at an apartment building in the 4200 block of Cathedral Avenue. If we’re guessing correctly, we think that the apartment building in question is The Towers, that cocoon-like building in Wesley Heights that is stuck in an era circa 1966.

If you don’t know much about this magical place, we encourage you to read part three of our series from last September, “The Ladies of the Upper Northwest Side.” (But just as a warning, we think back when we switched servers last fall, somehow the quotation marks in the post turned into question marks. We hope you can deal with that.)

And if the building is indeed The Towers, we’re almost certain that having a snake is against the building’s official rules, which also require that gentlemen wear jackets in the Fountainbleu Hotel-style breezeway after 7 p.m.

We know that at least one former Towers reads DCist. Is having a corn snake against the rules?

And a quick Editor’s Note: If there are any writers out there who have any “Observing D.C.”-type extended posts you think would work well for this space, please contact Mike.
