Spring is Here: For the Post’s Fritz Hahn, this can only mean one thing: “Temperatures are climbing into the 70s. The sun sets after 7:30. It’s time to move happy hour outside.” With the city’s plant life coming alive, the temps may also mean other things to you, and the Post declares yesterday “Nice Enough Without Cherries on Top.”
Virginia Debates State Song: A CD with the top 8 contenders for Virginia’s state song will soon be available to allow for voting, or you can listen to the finalists online. The process has been something of a debacle: “Some accused the panel of favoritism when it picked as one of the finalists a song written by Mr. Dean — the sausage king and former country music singer … had contributed to some of the panel members’ re-election campaigns. His song remains as one of the finalists.”
Marion Barry’s Son Pleads Guilty: Former Mayor Marion Barry’s 24-year-old son has plead guilty to a misdemeanor of simple assault for a February altercation with a police officer, although his attorney still maintains Barry did not punch the officer, as the judge alleges.
