>> Upbeat Australian electro-popsters Architecture in Helsinki play DC9 this evening; we’ve heard great buzz about this band, so make sure to check out their performance. $7.
>> Wolf Trap Jazz & Blues Festival starts off today and runs through the 19th. Don’t miss acts like Cassandra Wilson, Susan Tedeschi, Buddy Guy and more. Tickets are $20 to $32 in advance, or $22 to $36 the day of show.
SATURDAY:
>> Local indie-rockers Ris Paul Ric (Chris from Q and Not U), Martin Royle (from Washington Social Club), Andy Zipf (read our interview with him here), and the Gena Rowlands Band perform a fundraiser concert for Miriam’s House at the Black Cat tonight. It’ll certainly be worth your $8. 9:30 p.m.
