It’s been a good summer. For DCist it has, anyway, filled with cheetah cubs and buttersticks, Nats games and Borf sightings, and lots of sweaty, booze-soaked cookouts. But fall is coming, people, and it’s time to put the flip-flops aside, say goodbye to the interns, and fill out your autumn dance card. DCist humbly offers the following suggestions.

Oh, they grow up so fast. One day they’re lil, playing hoops and making MTV videos, the next day they’re bringing together their buddies for a tour so hott it makes young women spontaneously combust. Don’t miss your chance to see Bow Wow and friends at Scream Tour IV on August 26th at the MCI Center. Tickets are on sale now for $45.

For vampires that definitely don’t suck, see Arlington’s own Synetic Theater bring the most famous Transylvanian ever to life in an experimental performance of Dracula. See them at the Kennedy Center from September 8th to the 11th. Tickets are on sale now for $30.

Seriously, these bands need no introduction. Imagine pure entertainment on a lovely fall night with The White Stripes and The Shins this September 27th at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. Tickets are on sale now from $25 to $40.

Babylon – not just for wars anymore. Tickets to see David Gray at DAR Constitution Hall go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. (the password presale is going on now). The show is October 3rd and will set you back a mere $40.75.

This DCist saw Beck once nine years ago, where he rocked for a while, then played an acoustic set, then had a DJ work the turntables for twenty minutes, then did the robot to Loser. We tried to see him again two years ago, but he suffered a rib injury during Blur‘s set, went to the hospital, and never came on. Frankly, we have no idea what to expect this time around. Mr. Hansen is playing the GMU Patriot Center on October 5th. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. for $40; the presale starts today at 4.

The Wiz, sans Larry Hughes, are back and playing King James and the Cavs in a preseason matchup on October 10th. Get your tickets now; we recommend the $5 ones, but they go up to $387.50.

For divine, Grammy-winning a capella check out Sweet Honey in the Rock, an all-female group founded at the DC Repertory Theater in 1973. The show is October 28th at the Warner Theater, and tickets go on sale August 22nd for $26.50 to $56.50.
