In what could be the least newsworthy post of the day, DCist has learned from its frontline correspondents that what was once a simmering rivalry between two blogs has exploded into full fledged blog war.

DC Bachelor, a popular if provocative blog on women and dating, today issued a no-nonsense fatwa against the Cleveland Park Men’s Club, a blog whose content similarly covers dating and women but tends more towards aristocratic sophistication. The DC Bachelor, a shadowy figure, directly addressed the Senator, a primary contributor to the CPMC, writing:

Senator: If you are reading this right now, which I doubt since I’ve had to ban you multiple times for “anonymous” trolling, I implore you to please shut down your page before you become a laughing stock. You’re not far from it as it is. No one takes you seriously anymore, and you won’t make much money if your page eventually reaches your ultimate life dream goal. Judging by the amount of bloggers that make fun of you on your page and to me in private, it’s just a matter of time until your friends stop taking you seriously as well.

Not ones to let veiled threats stand unanswered, the CPMC collectively issued a response of their own, declaring:

The blog was formed collectively last March for the Members of the CPMC. Not for you. We will last well into the future. In fact, many of us laughed about all of this craziness last night…But that is besides the point. So, if you do not like this blog, then do not visit. It is that simple. This is not high school, so stop acting that way.

Can someone say “cat fight”?

Pictured above, you can only help but feel the simmering tension between CPMC’s Senator, at left, and the DC Bachelor, at right.
