For most of us, this week will be a blur of travel, family, and tryptophan-induced holiday napping. However, if you find yourself in Washington this week, you may be surprised to learn that there will be some classical concerts for you to attend, even over the weekend, although nothing on Turkey Day itself. Hey, musicians need to have holidays, too, and this one is the last rest most of us will get before the crazed season of Christmas and winter holiday concerts sets in.

NOT THE NUTCRACKER:
>> Our headliner this week is the return of the Suzanne Farrell Ballet to the Kennedy Center‘s Eisenhower Theater. You may remember that we talked up this company’s appearance in Washington this past summer. Suzanne Farrell was the startling lead dancer for renowned dancer-choreographer George Balanchine, and now she is a mentor to younger dancers in her own company. This program will feature choreographies to Delibes’s La Source, Stravinsky’s Duo Concertant, as well as music by Morton Gould and Maurice Ravel. Performances are scheduled for Tuesday (November 22, 8 p.m.), Wednesday (November 23, 8 p.m.), Friday (November 25, 8 p.m.), Saturday (November 26, 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.), and Sunday (November 27, 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.). Tickets: $29 to $84.

FREE CONCERTS:
>> There are two exciting free museum concerts you could attend. On Sunday (November 27, 5 p.m.), 19-year-old violinist Jessica Lee will perform in the Music Room of the Phillips Collection. She is a native of Virginia and an astonishing child prodigy now striking out on an adult career, after winning the 2005 Concert Artists Guild International Competition. The concert is free with the price of admission to the museum. Seating is always at a premium in this small venue, so get there early.
