Hello DCist readers! Have all of you finished up your leftovers? Did you make turkey soup with cranberry/yam sauce? Did you have a billion ham sandwiches? Did you use your tofurkey as a football? We just figured out that cold gravy can also be considered turkey jello, thus expanding our list of entrée/desserts. We love learning.

You’ll probably want your tickets now, so we’re jumping the gun a little bit and telling you about an event for next week. TasteDC is holding a Holiday Wine Expo from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10. For only $35 (if you buy now), you’ll get the chance to taste over 150 wines and purchase the ones you like at a discount. If you try them all (which we don’t recommend, but hey, be a hero), that’s only 23 1/3 cents a swig. The event is at the Wyndham on Thomas Circle (14th and M St. NW), itself a site of Washington history. Anyone know why? We promise we’re not setting you up.

According to TasteDC, over 400 people attended last year. You know what that means: 400 people all in one room, getting a little tipsy on the delicious wines, in close quarters, seductive elevator music, hotel rooms only three floors up … that’s so many games of Catchphrase. You should probably bring your own beeping board game, though. Always be prepared.
