Williams Adds RSS to Blog: D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams seems to be taking the blogging business a little more seriously this time around. In a post dated February 2, Williams proudly announced that due to popular demand, an RSS feed had been added to his blog. But more than being a technical convenience, Williams spun it as a success story of responsive government:

One of the things I like about being Mayor is the ability make things happen. They’re little things but they add up to citizen satisfaction. This is why it gave me great pleasure to visit the blog tonight and sure enough, the RSS has been installed. We aim to please and this time we succeeded.

Now all he’s missing is permalinks and his blog will be all grown up!

Post Launches Local Politics Blog: The Post has slowly been expanding the number of blogs they sponsor, now covering everything from national security to national politics to their internal workings. Today they introduced D.C. Wire, which will be their blog on District politics as reported by Metro reporters Lori Montgomery, David Nakamura, Yolanda Woodlee, and Eric M. Weiss. While we love the idea, we can’t say were not feeling a little threatened. The Post seems to want to out-blog us, slowly encroaching on our territory. War is war, Posties, and we’re not going down without a fight.
