With immigration legislation making its way through the Congress, the Washington Times warning that the every resident of Canada, Mexico, and Central America is coming to the United States, and the President’s primetime speech on Monday (so nice he gave it twice), public focus on the hot-button issue is again dominating the news. So it is that groups supporting immigrant workers have organized another rally and march to the Capitol, which is due to take place this afternoon on the National Mall.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. this afternoon, and WMATA is planning on running extra trains to accomodate the demonstrators and evening commuters. Delays, and crowded platforms and streets are expected, however, so be sure to plan your afternoon travel accordingly.
