MONDAY
>> We’re not sure if anybody has heard of the Maryland-based Institute of Musical Traditions, but they are celebrating Bob Dylan’s birthday (which is technically on the 24th) with “Dylan 65 – A Birthday Tribute.” They are promising some good times with Dylan tunes performed by “a variety of the region’s best artists” – most of whom are Wammie winners. However, Dylan won’t be there. If he’s like us on our birthday, he likes to sit around, get drunk and play Star Wars: Battlefront II. St. Mark Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, $15 Advance/$20 Door, 7:30 p.m.

>> Arlington-based The Pharmacy Prophets are playing their first show ever at the Black Cat, and they are excited about it. Really, very excited. Let a little of that excitement rub off on you. Pharmacy Prophets, with D.C.-based Demivolt, at the Black Cat Black Cat. $5, 9 p.m. $5, 9 p.m.

TUESDAY
>> The Birchmere has Brandi Carlile with Gran Bel Fisher. All we really know is that one of Brandi’s songs appeared on “Grey’s Anatomy,” and we love that show. Do you think she knows whether Meredith ends up with McDreamy? $17.50, 7:30 p.m.
