FRIDAY:

>> James Wong Howe’s 1954 film Go, Man, Go! is a fictionalized account of the Harlem Globetrotters story, starring Sidney Poitier, Dane Clark and some of the original Globetrotters. And we don’t know about you guys, but we’re just never bored watching those guys do things with a basketball that seem to defy the laws of physics. Plus there’s a love story, and who couldn’t use a little more love? A free showing has been arranged at the Library of Congress’ Mary Pickford Theatre at 7 p.m. Call (202) 707-5677 before 4 p.m. to reserve a seat.

SATURDAY:

>> D.C. Fashion Week continues with its Swimsuit Collection show at Love, starting at 11:30 p.m. We’re not exactly sure what D.C. swimsuits look like — do they have collars and ties? Check out the Fashion Week Web site for other events this weekend, which wind down on Sunday.

>> If you missed our guide to this weekend’s festivals, take another look here. The National Book Festival, Crafty Bastards, and the Asian Pacific American Film Festival are all serving up the goodies.

>> Got a friend in town but aren’t sure what to do with them? Cultural Tourism D.C. is offering up an entire day of free Walking Tours all over the city. There’s too many to list here, so follow the link for details. And make reservations, many of the tours are filling up.

SUNDAY:

>> It’s your last chance to catch Synetic Theater’s Frankenstein at the Kennedy Center. Our reviewer says: “The emotional impact of Frankenstein largely comes from the impressive Irika Kavsadze as the creature. Kavsadze, with his halting speech and hulking figure, is overwhelmingly pitiable as the monster, but still menacing enough to be more than just an object of sympathy.”
