Free Doughnuts All Around
As you may have read elsewhere, today is the day for free doughnuts at the new P Street NW location of regional doughnut chain, The Fractured Prune. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Friday, December 1), stop by 2153 P Street NW for a free doughnut and coffee.

Despite my love for all things fried, I can’t really get behind a doughnut. I like fry bread, fried pies, and fried dough, but a doughnut is way too cloying and heavy for me. However, given the choice of glazes like mocha, mint, mixed berry, orange, and caramel and toppings like mini chocolate chips and Oreo cookies, I could be persuaded to change my mind. If not, that means more for you, right?

The spot opens officially tomorrow, but it will be handing out test ‘nuts this afternoon. Regular price doughnuts cost 95 cents each, and $8.95 a dozen, so if you can’t make it out tonight you’ll probably be able to manage a taste anyway.
