Morning, D.C. Man, it got cold over the weekend, didn’t it? One moment on Friday I’m biking around town in my skirt, next moment I’m huddled on the couch in the fetal position, swathed in comforters. Episcopal Church Votes on Departure: The Post reports that two of the largest Episcopal churches in the nation – both of whom are in Fairfax County – are voting on whether or not they should leave the church on ideological grounds and align with a Nigerian archbishop. And naturally, it’s because of the gays. Because when Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, who supports a gay bishop elected in New Hampshire, was elected, that’s when the bad started to happen.
Cleanin’ Leaves, Smashin’ Cars: Man, why do the people who keep our streets clean have to go smashing in the windows of our cars? A question for the ages. But that’s what happened sometime on Saturday, when what witnesses said was a large orange truck with a leaf-sucking hose attached to it barreled down a two-block stretch of Wisconsin Avenue and broke the windows of 13 cars. Was one of your cars affected? Leave comments here, and I’ll buy you a drink to ease the suffering.

And now, the work has started. According to WTOP, Fenty thinks that “says that sitting among his deputies will lead to increased accountability and a spirit of openness.”
