Caroline Bartman knows her scientists. And her pop culture references. And her U.S. presidents. And her signs of the Zodiac.

The DC resident and National Cathedral School senior proved her spanning knowledge of trivia Wednesday night, when she calmly slaughtered two other teen competitors during the Jeopardy Teen Tournament. Bartman barely showed her nerves during the television program (though perhaps it might have been because one of her competitors thought JFK voluntarily chose not to seek a second term. Ah, how we love mocking teenagers). She’s now in the semifinals.

Another local gal, Silver Spring resident Caroline Jones will try the same feat this evening, as she faces off against two other teens for her shot at the prize. The winner of the tournament gets a nice $75,000.

According to a recent Post article, Jones, a senior at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, is a theater student who’s been a lifelong trivia buff, while Bartman’s a voracious reader and athlete who’s dreading the sports category. We can relate, as that pesky orange chip has tripped us up on more than one round of Trivial Pursuit ourselves. So far, Bartman’s done a heck of a job representing the city, and we can only hope that Jones steps it up tonight. DCist is rooting for you, ladies!

Tune in tonight and next week; Friday’s show will determine the winner. Though, we have to ask, have the questions on the Teen Tournament gotten easier or have we, in our old age, just gotten smarter?
