Let’s see. What could possibly be going on in the arts this weekend? Hmm, oh right. DCist Exposed has been getting some love from the Post (did you check out last weekend’s Sunday Source?), Washingtonian, and a whole slew of online sources. We just got back from hanging the show and, oh man, it looks great, so we hope you’ll give it some love, too, tomorrow night at Warehouse, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Please forgive the abbreviated arts agenda this week. We’ve been a tad pre-occupied, but don’t let that stop you from checking out the following:

>> Tonight stop by The Phillips Collection for a screening of a.k.a. Nikki S. Lee, “an ironic, yet poignant exposé” of this NYC artist. Showings are at 6 and 7:15 p.m. and the price is included with admission to the gallery.

>> The Long View Gallery on 9th Street NW has an opening this Saturday for Poetic Landscape featuring Gerard Erley’s, well, you get it. 6 to 8 p.m.

>> Popular glass artist Tim Tate opens a new show at Fraser Gallery on Friday, during the monthly Bethesda Art Walk. 6 to 9 p.m.

>> The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop is offering a free photography lecture and demonstration on the Large Format Portrait on Saturday, March 10, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. Hmm, time to start preparing for the next DCist Exposed maybe? At the same time they’ll also be hosting a lecture by photographer and owner of the aforementioned Fraser Gallery, Catroina Fraser.

>> The Young Women’s Drumming Empowerment Project is holding their annual community performance fundraiser this Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edmund Burke School. $10, check out their web site for more info about the organization.

>> The Smithsonian American Art Museum opens up a new exhibition tomorrow with the 2007 Renwick Craft Invitational, From the Ground Up, featuring four artists who use traditional craft media.

>> We missed last week’s opening to the Marsha Mateyka Gallery’s new show, Songs of the Naked Trees, with Madeleine Hatz’s vibrant abstract paintings. Go check it out during their regular hours, Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

>> The William W. Parker Gallery is hosting a new show called 9 x 10 for WPAC member artists. As they so kindly note in their press release, their reception coincides with DCist Exposed and is located right around the corner, so it looks like you’ve got plenty to do on 7th Street tomorrow night.
