President Bush may soon be hitting Craigslist to fill a new position in his administration. He wants to create the job of ‘War Czar” to report directly to the Commander-in-Cheif and oversee military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Problem is, no one wants the job. Bush has approached three retired four-star generals for the new position, and all three passed on the gig.

One of the potential recruits, Marine Gen. John J. “Jack” Sheehan, told the Post differences with the administration’s handling of the war was at the heart of his decision. “I’ve never agreed on the basis of the war, and I’m still skeptical. Not only did we not plan properly for the war, we grossly underestimated the effect of sanctions and Saddam Hussein on the Iraqi people,” said Sheehan.

So is the job of “War Czar” the least wanted job in Washington? We’re certainly curious about the pay. How much cash would you need to take on perhaps the most difficult job in the world right now?
