FRIDAY:

>> It’s Friday the 13th. Scaaary? Nah. We laugh in the face of danger. Or at least, you might if you swing by HR-57 tonight for all the DC Comedy Fest events happening on their stages. We gave you the rundown on the festival yesterday, and we’d especially recommend heading over later on to catch the 11 p.m. Leno-Letterman Audition Highlights, which features some of the fest’s funnier comedians in longer sets than usual.

>> Don’t forget: It’s Art Night. Check out all the openings, including Artomatic and WPAC, in this week’s Arts Agenda, and hit the galleries on your way home from work.

>> It’s tough not to love the sweet, sweet electro-grooves of Junior Boys, and even tougher not to love them for coming to the Black Cat on a Friday night when you’re itching to move your feet. With Aqueduct and Youth Group. 9 p.m., $13.

>> As DCist Kyle would no doubt say: jeezy creezy. You have to trust us on this one and go read the entire description for Death Kiss, a 1974 “Greek Exploitation” film being shown free tonight at the Library of Congress’ Mary Pickford Theater. We’ll give you a taste: “Unbeknownst to Jim, Mike is a heroin-addicted psychopath with hobbies that include kidnaping, rape, addicting others to heroin, storing live people in coffins, etc. and is considering taking up necrophilia.” Sold! 7 p.m. Call (202) 707-5677 before 4 p.m. to reserve a seat.

SATURDAY:

>> Choose your own Six Points Music Festival adventure and celebrate local music tonight. The Red and the Black hosts The Gulf, the whimsical Bellman Barker, and Unbuckled alumni The Hard Tomorrows
for a measly $8. Or if you’re in the mood for something a little closer to a metro stop, RNR will take a break from it’s Coyote Ugly roots to make room for noise-makers Gist, hardworking band-about-town the Alphabetical Order, and the surprisingly sweet Lemonface. If you can navigate RNR’s web site better than us (turn down your volume first) to discover how much they’re charging for this show, do let us know it in the comments.

>> You won’t be sorry you spent $44 on this ticket. Our normally reserved theater critic went cuckoo bananas over Woolly Mammoth’s She Stoops to Comedy: “Hyperbole can be dangerous, but it’s hard to think of a more laugh-inducing scene that we’ve seen on the DC stage this season than Kate Eastwood Norris’s exchange with, well, herself…” 8 p.m.

SUNDAY:

>> Who doesn’t love the Redskins Cheerleaders? Certainly not DCist. Cheer on the 50 finalists for a spot on this year’s squad with the rowdy crowd at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse. $15 gets you in the door. 3-6 p.m.

>> While you’re sitting around reading the Weekend Picks and trying to decide between all the amazing events this city offers, why don’t you take a second to give back a little? Click over to our Team DCist.com Servathon page and sign up to paint Hine Junior High with us on May 5 (and hey fellas, have you seen what a team of fine ladies we’ve lined up already?), or if you can’t make it out, donate a few bucks to help us reach our goal of $2000, all of which will go to help local nonprofits run throughout the year.
