Secret Service spokeswoman Kim Bruce said one officer was injured in the leg and the other received a shrapnel wound in his face. It’s not clear how the accidental shooting took place. >> Downtown Washington developer Douglas Jemal has been sentenced to probation after only being convicted of lesser wire fraud charges. A federal judge said Jemal’s standing in the community outweighed any damage he had done. [WaPo]

>> As of 5 p.m. Pepco is still reporting about 400 homes as without power in the District after this week’s powerful storm. Thousands more in the outlying suburbs, especially in Northern Virginia, remain without power today after flooding and winds knocked out power lines throughout the region.
