The White House Christmas Tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday Nov. Dec. 6, at 5 p.m., which means without a doubt, if you can avoid driving your car in the city, you really should. The annual ceremony always screws up downtown traffic in an extreme way. Add the leftover snow and ice on the ground into the mix, and we can promise you a traffic clusterf*** of epic proportions tomorrow evening.
If you’d like to attend the ceremony itself — well, it’s too late. All the tickets were distributed to the public this past Saturday. If you managed to score tickets, gates open at 3:30 p.m. and all guests must be in their seats by 4:30 p.m. Guests will be treated to the vocal stylings of country singer Sara Evans, 14 year-old classical singer Holly Stell, 12 year-old singer/actor Julian Ivey, The United States Air Force Band and the St. Albans and National Cathedral Schools Choir.
