The Metrorail operator who was involved in the pocket track derailment at the Farragut North station on Feb. 12 has been fired, WMATA officials announced today.

Metro declined to name the operator, but identified her as a woman who has been an employee with the transit agency since 1976, and a rail operator since April 1999. She was fired on March 11 “for failing to follow standard operating procedures,” according to a statement.
