It might not be quite as dramatic, image-wise, as the last time the lights went out on along the National Mall, but a power disruption near the Lincoln Memorial is causing some real headaches for commuters this morning.

Since the lights are out at several intersections, the Park Police are directing the flow of traffic. But they’ve shut down two lanes of traffic on the western side of the Mall, and that’s obviously created quite a bottleneck. Pepco’s working on repairing the cable — the latest estimates are that it should be fixed by 10:30 a.m. (UPDATE: The power’s been restored.)
