Morning Washington. Enjoy this glimpse of sun, as it doesn’t look like it will last. There is still a coastal flood advisory for D.C. and the surrounding suburbs, so I hope those graduating today don’t get washed out.

>> Maryland is the first state in the nation to approve the use of birth control for deer. The drug, Gonacon, will only be used in very limited circumstances and according to the state’s director of the Wildlife and Heritage Service, it won’t be used in 98 percent of the state. In order to administer the birth control, the deer must be shot via dart gun to tranquilize it before Gonacon can be injected.

>> In addition to the man who was shot and killed at 18th Place and M Streets NE Friday night, who has been identified as 32-year-old Ervin Lamont Griffin, another man was killed in NE. At approximately 5:40 a.m. Saturday a man was found dead of gun shot wounds in the 3700 block of Jay St. NE. The man has been identified as 30-year-old Junon Tyree Snead.

>> Two DDOT employees announced they are leaving the agency, one to work with Gabe Klein in Chicago. Karina Ricks, head of DDOT’s Policy and Planning department, is leaving to spend more time with her family while Leah Treat, head of finance, will join Klein in Chicago.
