A. Scott BoldenJust because he’s been shuttled off to New England doesn’t mean that we’re rid of Albert Haynesworth — oh no, not by a long shot.
With the beginning of the former Redskins defensive tackle’s non-jury trial scheduled for next Tuesday, Haynesworth’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, filed a spat of motions yesterday, including one asking the court to suppress testimony from an individual Bolden alleges was offered cash to testify.
The Post has more details on the juicy motion to prohibit a bouncer at the club from telling the grand jury that he witnessed Haynesworth fondle a cocktail waitress inside a lounge at the W Hotel on February 13. According to Bolden’s motion, the witness told investigators hired by Bolden that he was offered $50,000 by a person identified as the plaintiff’s attorney to appear in court. Bolden also moved to strike from evidence comments made by Haynesworth to police detectives after the incident, including ones claiming his accuser “was just upset I have a white girlfriend,” that the waitress “was trying to get with me” and that he “doesn’t even like little black girls.”
Bolden rejected a plea deal in April; if convicted on the misdemeanor sexual abuse charge, Haynesworth could face up to 180 days in jail.
