WJLA reports that the D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Board ruled today that Heritage India can reopen on December 21, but it will face restrictions on operating hours and the sale of liquor.
According to the an agreement between the board and the Dupont Circle restaurant’s management, Heritage India will have to close every night at midnight and will only be able to sell alcohol with food. It also has to submit a new security plan to the city.
The restaurant was closed by police in the wake of a November weekend shooting that left one person dead and five injured, and subsequently had its liquor license suspended as the city investigated. The incident has also spurred legislation that would force party promoters to be licensed by the city and pay for additional police security at events.
