This probably isn’t the week to be in a rush.

Responding to the mild weather and the increase of people walking and cycling to work, D.C. police officers have been out in force this week enforcing pedestrian, cycling and driving laws as part of the annual Street Smart campaign.

Yesterday a police officer made sure cyclists obeyed the red light at 14th and U Streets NW, today officers pulled over cars not yielding the right-of-way to pedestrians.

And as ARLnow writes, Arlington is getting in on the action with its own campaign and cheesy accompanying PSA, which is below.
