Six people were shot in two separate incidents in Northwest D.C. last night and early this morning, leaving two men dead, reports WJLA.
The first shooting took place as a group of people watched a fireworks show in Petworth around 8 p.m.; someone opened fire, hitting four people, two of them juveniles. One person died. Early this morning, another shooting took place, this one in Park View and hitting two men, one of whom died from his injuries.
As of July 2, there had been 43 killings in D.C., 23 percent fewer than the year prior.
