There’s been a lot confusion this week as to whether or not thousands of truckers would indeed take to the Beltway, driving steadily at 55 miles per hour and causing a massive traffic jam in the name of ‘Merica.
Well, that’s kind of what is happening right now. Although the event organizers said thousands of truckers would be on the Beltway, it looks like that number is closer to only 30, WNEW reports. WNEW also says that Maryland and Virginia police are aware of the planned demonstration and are prepared to handle it. No major delays were reported.

Use express lanes on the interloop. Blocking all four lanes at 10 mph. pic.twitter.com/nsOm3n53yS

Since then truck drivers have made sure to keep one lane open. Speeds up to 40 mph again.

I am probably driving in the middle of 15 trucks give or take on the inner loop. Speeds staying around 40 mph. Approaching Virginia.

If you’re on the Beltway—or were—stuck in “Truckers Ride For The Constitution” traffic, send a pic or your story to tips@dcist.com.
