D.C. Police were dispatched to Half and N Street SE this morning shortly after 10 a.m., following reports of gunfire.
MPD spokesperson Rachel Reid confirmed that one adult male is suffering from a gunshot wound, and he is currently conscious and breathing. He is being transported to the hospital.
A job fair for concession workers at Nationals Park was slated to begin at 10 a.m. this morning, according to Washington Post sports reporter Dan Steinberg.
However, police do not believe that the shooting is connected to the job fair, says MPD spokesperson Karima Bilal. Instead, they think the shooting stemmed from a liquor store across the street, where the majority of shell casings were found.
The suspect is a younger black male with a puffy jacket, Bilal says.
Several nearby buildings and Nationals Park were sheltering in place.
Wow. Someone just started shooting in front of Nationals Park during a career fair. JESUS CHRIST!!

Per my coworker, someone just walked up and opened fire on a crowd. One person was shot 3 times, once in the face.
