Blue and Yellow Line riders have one more week of disruptions due to SafeTrack Surge 13. This is the last weekend that riders will contend with 24 minute wait times on the Blue Line between Franconia-Springfield and Largo Town Center and the Yellow Line between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square.

Elsewhere on Metrorail, trains are running at normal intervals this weekend.

And looking forward, Green Line riders should brace themselves for SafeTrack Surge 14, which will shutter Greenbelt Metro station from April 15 until May 14 and College Park station from April 15-29.

Red Line

Regular weekend service

Friday & Saturday from 10:00 p.m. through close, trains will single track between Farragut North and Judiciary Square to allow for preventative maintenance.

Orange Line

Regular weekend service

Sunday from 10:00 p.m. through close, trains will single track between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW to allow for ceiling tile replacement.

Silver Line

Regular weekend service

Sunday from 10:00 p.m. through close, Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only to allow for rebuilding on the Orange and Blue lines. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.

Yellow Line

SafeTrack Surge #13 – Continuous single tracking between Braddock Road and Huntington | through April 12

  • Yellow Line trains will operate every 24 minutes between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square.
  • Additional trains will operate between National Airport and Mt. Vernon Square.
  • Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.

Green Line

Regular weekend service

Friday & Saturday from 10:00 p.m. though close, trains will single track between Suitland and Branch Avenue to allow for communication cable installation.
