Police say a teenager was fatally shot in Barry Farm on Sunday evening.
After a report of gunshots, officials arrived in the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road SE around 8:15 p.m. and found 16-year-old MyAngelo Starnes suffering from gunshot wounds inside of the entryway of an apartment building, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.
Fire officials took Starnes to Medstar Washington Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police haven’t released a description of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help. MPD offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for murders committed in the the city.
So far, there have been 81 homicides in D.C this year compared to 102 this time last year, according to MPD data.
